Housekeeper

We are looking for an excellent housekeeper who is willing to maintain high cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms thoroughly and according to Best Western standards
  • Cleaning hallways and common areas as assigned
  • Using chemicals, cleaners, and cleaning equipment properly
  • Stocking and maintaining housekeeping carts and linens storage room
  • Documenting maintenance issues during routine housekeeping

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds on a regular and continuing basis
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning / inspection tasks
  • Must be available to work weekends

Housekeeping Supervisor

The Housekeeping Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates work activities of the Housekeeping staff in the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • Maintain complete knowledge of:
  • Room status on A.M. report
  • Discrepant / Out-of-Service rooms
  • Prioritize and update status of check-out rooms
  • Ensure the assigned staff have reported to work; document any late or absent employees
  • Coordinate breaks for assigned staff
  • Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to assigned staff and review priorities
  • Assign designated guest room keys and beepers to assigned staff
  • Maintain accurate record of keys and ensure their security
  • Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift
  • Inspect supply levels of floor closets
  • Assign designated personnel to rectify any deficiencies
  • Check Room Attendant's carts for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness, and mechanical problems
  • Inspect rooms cleaned by assigned Room Attendants, using designated checklist
  • Directly contact Room Attendant and relay any deficiencies to be corrected
  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Housekeeping Clerk
  • Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.• Conduct training of staff as assigned
  • Provide feedback on staff performance to manager
  • Report disciplinary problems to manager and participate in the counseling of employees
  • Document pertinent information in department log book
  • Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving
  • Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with manager and/or on-coming supervisor
  • Check P.M. reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Complete night counts in accordance with departmental standards

In addition, the role is accountable for performing maintenance tasks on daily basis that are critical to providing an exceptional stay to each and every guest.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain timelines and work schedule in accordance with the preventive maintenance program
  • Check work orders and night report for any assignment to be completed
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance work orders. For example:
  • Monitor and maintain all laundry and kitchen equipment
  • Maintain guestrooms using rooms preventive maintenance program
  • Change air-conditioning filters per the maintenance program
  • Check HVAC equipment: change filters, belts, bearings and lubricate as necessary. Also check for unusual noise or vibration, and adjust as necessary
  • Change or repair locks as needed
  • Perform general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas
  • Perform guest requests as assigned
  • Assist in all phases of repair work
  • Assist other engineering personnel as instructed by supervisor
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
  • Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all tools. Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces
  • Ensure security of any assigned keys
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Clean and professional appearance
  • Ability to communicate clearly (Speaking and writing)
  • Ability to utilize basic technology including a smartphone and a computer
  • Experience in maintenance or building trades preferred
  • Must be flexible to work weekday and weekend shifts

  • One-year previous experience in a similar position in a hotel preferred.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be available for AM and PM shifts.
  • Must be flexible to work weekday and weekend shifts.
